Origins of Mayven 31 Hat Co

We get asked all the time, “what made you want to open a hat bar in Kansas City?” Our vision for Mayven 31 was rooted in friendship, connection, and experience. We had a lot of ideas for a new business but nothing really felt right until Paige came to me one day and said, “stick with me, what about hats.” I must admit, I was skeptical not really knowing a lot about the concept of first, but it didn’t take long before we could both really see our two styles blending perfectly. Paige, a true western girlie at heart, and Angela, the alternative flair - together our vision of a curated experience where each person walks away with their custom hat felt right all along.

Training & Learning

We didn’t just decide to start making hats one day, we traveled to Ventura and Denver to complete two weeks of intense training. First, attending millinery school, then refining our craft to become true Hat Masters. The skills we walked away with gave us a foundation to build on. With each hat, our craft is refined and we able to continue to develop our skill set with each hat.

Family & Friends

Our team grew by including Paige’s sister, brother and their partners. My husband cheers from the sidelines. We are a truly family and friend business. Every event we attend is a chance for us to connect, have fun, and provide an experience for each client to get a glimpse into our dynamic. We welcome you into the fun!
